Today we’re talking about artificial grass drainage. By talking about it we create a better understanding, which will therefore lead to more informed buying when it comes to artificial grass installation, and artificial grass is well worth the investment.

ARTIFICIAL GRASS WILL COME WITH A BUILT-IN DRAINAGE SYSTEM.

However, sometimes it may need extra help such as a granite/stone-based layer or a sand base. This is usually laid beneath a weed membrane to keep weeds out. If we install it for you, once we’ve dug your lawn up and removed it, we will naturally place these two surfaces beneath the grass, so once it’s been laid, you have a safe waterlog and weed free artificial grass lawn.

WATERLOGGING ISN’T A GREAT LOOK FOR YOUR LAWN.

Your natural lawn is more likely to become waterlogged because it simply doesn’t have these layers underneath it, nor the protective factors built into an artificial lawn we’re going to mention in a minute. In poor weather then, it’s likely to become waterlogged, and also muddy and sodden with muddy bald patches where the grass has worn away. By having artificial grass installed you eliminate this issue because it comes with the underlayers we’ve described, and it has its own special drainage system too!

A CLEVER LITTLE DRAINAGE SYSTEM BUILT INTO YOUR ARTIFICIAL GRASS LAWN.

Artificial grass also comes with tiny holes in it and so acts as a clever little drainage system in itself, that’s aside from the weed membrane and sand layer. It means that it’s permeable and water will drain away to the layers beneath, sometimes into the soil below if you don’t have a granite or sand layer. In some cases, it’s not necessary to have a sand or ground stone or granite layer beneath because the soil underneath the artificial grass doesn’t need it. You will need to get your lawn checked by a professional to decide this is the case. You’ll also find that when your artificial grass lawn gets liquids spilled on it, whether that’s from the sky above, or from much loved pets, it will drain away through the tiny holes to the soil or drainage layer beneath. You’ll also find that artificial grass won’t become muddy and patchy like a natural lawn and will retain its lush green appearance throughout the year, regardless of the weather.

NO MATTER HOW COMPLEX OR UNUSUAL YOUR LAWN IS, ARTIFICIAL GRASS WILL ALWAYS FIT IN NICELY.

Whatever your garden is like, whether it has water features, pathways, unique flower arrangements, an artificial lawn will always compliment it. No soggy waterlogged ground, but lush, green spring/summer artificial grass in the most beautiful shade of green all year round.
